Auto Repair in Moses Lake, WA
Moses Lake, WA
The city of Moses Lake is the largest in Grant County, WA. It sits on a lake of the same name, which happens to be the largest natural body of fresh water in the county. The city covers almost 18 square miles of land, home to a population of just over 24,000 people.
White settlers first arrived in the area in the 1880s and named the lake in honor of Chief Moses, leader at the time of the Native American Sinkiuse tribe. Originally named Neppel, the town was incorporated and renamed Moses Lake in 1938. The region was largely barren until construction of Grand Coulee Dam in 1941 and Moses Lake Army Air Base the following year. By the 1950s newcomers had a reason to live in the area, and Moses Lake was quickly transformed into a hub for transportation, agriculture and recreation. South of town is the Potholes Reservoir, as well as the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge with its vast amounts of migratory birds.
